[ସମ୍ପାଦନା]- ୧. ଚାନ୍ଦ୍ରାୟଣବିଶେଷ; କୃଷ୍ଣ ପ୍ରତିପଦ ଠାରୁ ଅମାବାସ୍ୟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଖାଦ୍ୟର ପରିମାଣ କ୍ରମଶଃ କମାଇ ଶୁକ୍ଳ ପ୍ରତିପଦ ଠାରୁ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିମା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପୁଣି ଖାଦ୍ୟ ବଢ଼ାଇବାରୂପ ବ୍ରତବିଶେଷ —୧. A kind of penance by which the quantity of one's usual food is lessened day by day during the dark fortnight and is again increased day by day during the bright fortnight till itreaches the normal quantity.
