ବ୍ୟଞ୍ଜନ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣର ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ; ଟ ବର୍ଗର ୨ୟ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ; ଏହାର ଉଚ୍ଚାରଣ ସ୍ଥାନ ମୂର୍ଦ୍ଧା —The twelfth consonant. Its sound is produced from the head (cerbral). This letter is not represented by any single letter in the English alphabet, but resembles the sound of 't' followed immediately by the sound 'h' as in 'pent-house'. Generally the oria letter 'o' is rendered into English by writting 'th' with some distinguishing mark or dot to differentiate it from the English pronounciation of th, as in 'path' and of th as in 'the'. Thus the word ଠାକୁର is transliterated in English as Ṭhākura.
